With protecting the environment as a main priority, MultiAir engines are now equipped with the Start&Stop system.

How it works
Designed primarily for city driving, Start&Stop automatically turns off the engine when the vehicle comes to a halt.
For example, when the vehicle stops at traffic lights you just need to put it in neutral and take your foot off the clutch to turn the engine off. When you're ready simply dip the clutch pedal to move off again.

Benefits
This system, that can be de-activated if desired, improves the efficiency of the vehicle, lowering fuel consumption, harmful exhaust emissions and noise pollution.

Gear Shift Indicator
The GSI system advises the driver when to change gear for optimum engine efficiency.

 
How it works
Via a luminous indicator on the dashboard, the GSI suggests which gear the driver should select at any given time, to ensure combustion with the lowest possible concentration of fuel in the mixture.
On the other hand it can also tell you when to change gear to get the most efficient use of the torque out of the engine.

The device is always active when the Alfa Romeo D.N.A. switch is set to Normal or All-weather modes, ensuring fluid and comfortable driving, prioritising the reduction of fuel consumption and harmful emissions from the exhaust.
