ALFA TCT gearbox

The ALFA TCT gearbox, the latest new feature on the Alfa MiTo, is a 6 speed gearbox equipped with a semi-automatic transmission system with double dry clutch, consisting of two gearboxes in parallel that allow the next gear to engage while the previous one is still engaged. Thanks to this architecture, ALFA TCT ensures non-stop supply of torque and traction without any loss of power while shifting gears.

Positions
The ALFA TCT switch has four positions: parking (P), reverse (R), neutral (N) and drive (D). These are joined by the TIP control, which switches to sequential shifting. Gears can be changed manually in TIP mode with the up and down positions of the gear lever, or by using the steering wheel controls. The ALFA TCT gearbox offers the driver the chance to customise his driving style, perfectly interfacing with the Alfa Romeo D.N.A. functions (Dynamic, Normal, All weather).

 
Benefits
This innovative system allows a more agile and comfortable drive, continuous torque delivery and a 10% reduction in fuel consumption - partly due to the Start&Stop system - compared to a conventional automatic transmission.
