Unparalleled on the track, it won the first two Formula 1 World Championships: in 1950 with Farina and in 1951 with Fangio (in the advanced ‘159’ version).

Mounting an all-new 8-cylinder 90° V engine and a revolutionary aluminium and magnesium frame, it chalked up a long series of victories, the culmination of which was the 33’s triumph (now with 12 cylinders) in the 1975 World Constructors Championship, a feat repeated in 1977, when it dominated all eight races in the Sport Prototype World Championship.
