5 Year Manufacturer Warranty
In 2012 your new Alfa Romeo comes with a 5 Year Manufacturer Warranty i.e. 60 Months Manufacturer Warranty (or up to 100,000km from the date of first registration, whichever comes first) given by Alfa Romeo IRL Ltd. which is a trading name of Fiat Group Automobiles IRL Ltd.
- New vehicles or separate chassis manufactured by Fiat Group Automobiles Spa of Italy and sold by Alfa Romeo IRL Ltd. are the subject of this warranty
- Any defect due to faulty materials or workmanship during manufacture which occurs within 60 months of registration will be replaced or repaired free of charge for labour and materials (except fuel) at the Company’s option, if you take your car along to an authorised Alfa Romeo Dealer when the fault occurs
- If, during the period of the 60 Months Manufacturer Warranty, your vehicle should be off the road for warranty repair work which exceeds one working day, the repairing Authorised Alfa Romeo Dealer will provide (subject to availability) a free of charge courtesy vehicle for the duration of the repair. Please note that the owner will be expected to insure the courtesy vehicle for the loan period.
- The replaced or repaired part will be covered by the unexpired portion of the 60 Month Vehicle Warranty
- Any preliminary advice given by us or one of our dealers concerning the use of a vehicle after the discovery of a defect and before it has been repaired, must be strictly observed. In any event, the vehicle must not be driven in a manner that is likely to worsen the defect or help cause other faults
- Unless otherwise requested, any allegedly defective parts will be disposed of by the company 14 days after notification of our decision to the owner claiming under this Warranty or in the case of a dispute within 14 days of the Arbitrator’s decision
- In the event of a dispute as the rights of either party under this warranty, the matter can be referred to conciliation to the Society of Irish Motoring Industry
Making a Claim:
Making a claim is a simple procedure. Just pass the Service and Warranty Booklet to an Alfa Romeo Authorised Dealer and advise them of the problem.
If you need to make a claim while travelling abroad, your vehicle may either be repaired free of charge or you may be reimbursed at a later date. This is due to the fact that in certain countries or with certain categories of repair workshops it is not possible to obtain repairs under the warranty without payment. If you do have to pay for such repairs, please submit the receipted invoice for reimbursement with the Service and Warranty Booklet within two months to your Alfa Romeo Dealer. Once it is established that the repair was covered by the warranty, you will be reimbursed by the Dealer.
Exclusions:
This warranty does not apply to the following:
- Defects caused by normal wear and tear. In particular it does not cover oil changes, fuel, servicing or top-up and replacement of the following components if these items were subject to wear and tear:
- Filters
- Spark plugs
- Clutch plates
- Windscreen or rear wiper blades
- Brake discs
- Brake pads
- Any modification, addition, extension or alteration to the original ex-factory specification of the vehicle whether or not such is approved or recommended by the company in respect of the following:
- Defects arising in the modification itself
- Defects, which in the opinion of the Company were caused by the modification
- Tyres and radios, except where the defect results from negligence on the part of Alfa Romeo.
- Any vehicle used for racing, trials, rallies, competitive events or for any purpose other than genuine private or commercial use as a motor car
- Any part which in the opinion of the Company has been damaged by neglect, accident, overloading or by any form of improper use or by lack of periodical and proper maintenance as detailed in the Service and Warranty Booklet, or by any unauthorised modification or alteration from the manufacturer’s original specification
- Any vehicle whose identification numbers have been altered or removed
- Routine adjustments or normal servicing items made necessary by fair wear and tear
AA Roadside Assistance - 5 Years
All new Alfa Romeo cars first registered on, or after, the 01 January 2012, come with 5 years AA Roadside Assistance Cover.
Whichever level of service you need, AA Roadside Assistance helps to ensure you have access to Europe's largest motoring assistance organisation at all times. AA assistance cover is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Roadside Assistance
If your car is immobilised at the roadside, the first priority is to get you mobile again as quickly as possible. In most cases the problem will be diagnosed and fixed at the roadside. Where this is not possible you can call upon the additional services of Relay and Relay Plus.
What is Relay?
AA will assist you with your car recovery, with up to seven passengers, by relaying you to the nearest Alfa Romeo dealer or any other single location in Ireland.
What is Relay Plus?
It is an extension of Relay; providing a number of options ot help you find the most convenient way to continue your journey in the even that your car is temporarily immobilised. Options include emergency car hire for up to 48 hours, alternate travel arrangements or overnight accommodation.
Accident Management
AA provides expert assistance with all aspects of claim submission and repair work to get you back on the road again with the minimum of inconvenience.
3 Year Pan-European Paintwork Warranty
Your new vehicle has the protection of the Alfa Romeo 36 Month Unlimited Mileage Paintwork Warranty.
What are you covered for:
- Any paint defect on body panels which occurs within 36 months of registration will be repaired free of charge for labour and materials if you take your car along to an Authorised Alfa Romeo Dealer as soon as possible after the defect occurs.
- Any valid unexpired warranty will be automatically transferred to a second or subsequent owner.
- In the event of a dispute as to the rights of either party under this warranty, the matter can be referred to conciliation to the Society of Irish Motor Industry.
Vehicle Care and Maintenance:
To comply with the terms of the warranty you must look after your vehicle; In particular you should;
- Not use washing additives containing petroleum based products
- Clean the vehicle regularly and remove any impacted mud or dirt
- Have any damage immediately rectified

- Consequences of damage to the protective coating, such as scratches, grooves, abrasions, accidents, chemical attacks
- The consequences of causes other than production process or poor maintenance
- The consequences of vehicle body repairs carried out by a service outlet that is not a member of the Alfa Romeo Service Network where they are not to the highest standards of workmanship
Statutory Rights:
This warranty is in addition to the owner’s statutory and common law rights which are unaffected by these conditions
8 Year Pan-European Anti-Perforation Warranty
Your new Alfa Romeo has an 8 year (96 Month) anti-perforation warranty.
Subject to compliance with the terms and conditions of this warranty, Alfa Romeo IRL Ltd warrant that for a period of 96 months from the date of first registration, it will rectify and make good rust- through condition. This warranty is in addition to the Alfacare 5 Year Manufacturer Warranty and 3 Year Paintwork Warranty.
What are you covered for?
The Anti-Perforation Warranty covers rust which has perforated the metal ad has originated from inside a cavity panel or section of the bodywork i.e. from a surface which has not been finished with a topcoat.
Alfa Romeo IRL Ltd. reserves the right to choose repair or replacement of affected areas. The rectification will be carried out free of charge if the owner has complied with the terms and conditions of the warranty. Any valid unexpired portion of the warranty will be automatically transferred to a subsequent owner of the vehicle.
Vehicle care and Maintenance
To comply with the terms of the warranty you must look after your vehicle in the following way:
- Check and clean the vehicle regularly and remove any compacted mud or dirt from inside the wheel arches etc. These can build up and lead to corrosion. Check and clear all drainage holes at the base of the door frames.
- Keep the engine compartment clean
- Do not use washing additives containing petroleum or petroleum based products
- Have any damage immediately rectified
Accident or Damage Repairs
If you have the misfortune to be involved in an accident, then any damage should be repaired as soon as possible using only Alfa Romeo Genuine Parts or parts of an equivalent standard. For the best results we recommend you consult with your Alfa Romeo Service Dealer who will ensure highest standards of workmanship. If the vehicle is repaired elsewhere then it must be submitted to an Alfa Romeo Authorised Dealer for corrosion inhibitor re-treatment of the affected areas at your own expense.
It is important that you keep documentary proof, in the form of the Accident Repair Certificates, of any repairs or re-treatment to show Alfa Romeo IRL Ltd. upon request. The full unexpired portion of the warranty will continue to apply, subject to the full terms and conditions of the warranty.
The anti-corrosion coatings used to protect your car have been developed to give the longest lasting protection against the elements. It is therefore very important that they are not altered, damaged, removed, tampered with or re-coated with any other material.
Making a Claim:
If you should spot any sign of rust, then you should report it to an Authorised Alfa Romeo Dealer immediately for inspection and/or re-treatment and repair. This must be done within the warranty period and the Alfa Romeo Dealer will require you to present the Service and Warranty Booklet. Any rust damage not covered by this warranty must be repaired at your own expense.
Exclusions:
This warranty does not apply to the following;
- Any vehicle used for racing, trials, rallies, competitive events, or for any purpose other than genuine private use as a motor car
- Any damage which in the opinion of Alfa Romeo has been caused or aggravated by neglect, accident, or by any form of improper use, or by any unauthorised modification or alteration from the manufacturer’s original specification
- Any corrosion arising from damage to the paintwork and other protective surfaces by external factors such as stone chips, scratches, atmospheric pollution etc
- Any corrosion arising from fitting accessories which are not approved by the Company or where approved accessories are fitted other than in accordance with Manufacturer’s instructions
- Any vehicle whose identification numbers have been altered or removed
Statutory Rights:
This warranty is in addition to the owner’s statutory and common law rights which are unaffected by these conditions
