The Alfa Romeo Story: 110 Years on Four Wheels
Our birthday is coming up, and it’s a pretty significant one. On June 24th 2020, Alfa Romeo will celebrate 110 years of passion, innovation and ground-breaking Italian engineering and design. To celebrate, we’re taking a trip down memory lane with The Alfa Romeo Story – a web series in which we’ll revisit some of our most legendary cars, nail-biting racing successes and proudest engineering achievements. Not only that, but we’ll also be talking to many of the people who’ve made Alfa Romeo come alive so spectacularly over the years; from the racing drivers and celebrities through to technicians, stylists and of course, the everyday enthusiasts.
The Backstage Pass Project
Besides The Alfa Romeo Story, we will be opening the doors of the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo in Lombardy and inviting you inside to explore with us via social media. Make sure you’re following @museoalfaromeo on Instagram and Facebook to view exclusive pieces of Alfa Romeo’s historic collection, encompassing hundreds of automobiles, engines, mechanical components, trophies and miniatures.
Alfa 24HP: The First Ever All-Italian Alfa
With The Alfa Romeo Story, we’ll begin by journeying back to our earliest origins: June 24th 1910 in the Portello district of Milan, where Giuseppe Merosi designed and built Alfa Romeo’s very first automobile - the A.L.F.A 24HP. At this point the business name A.L.F.A (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili) wasn’t yet even registered, but the first ALFA was already a true Alfa Romeo in body and soul: elegant, sporty, technologically advanced, and with an unmistakable charm. This was the magic formula that would ensure Alfa Romeo’s legendary status in the automotive landscape in the many years that followed.
